Abstract
|
|
|
Two hundreds and seventeen herniorrhaphies perfermed at the Pusan University Hospital and Pusan Children´s Charity Hospital between November 1957 and October 1966 have been reviewed.
1) The comparative incidence of indirect inguinal, direct inguinal, and femoral hernias with regard to age, sex, and side of involvement has been analyzed.
2) The symptoms of simple hernia have been analyzed.
3) The complications and associated disease of hernias have been analyzed with regard to age.
4) The methods of treatment have been analyzed with regard to the type of repair employed, the anesthesia, and the age of the patient.
5) The results of treatment have been analyzed on the basis of a 3 year follow-up examination.
